About Depot48

Depot48 was never meant to be just another bar.

It was built to be a home – for independent artists, for the queer community, for anyone tired of copy-paste nights and louder-than-life crowds.

We started ten years ago in a sleepy corner of Safdarjung, when the idea of a full-time live music venue sounded a little crazy (and a bit unprofitable). But we stuck with it: acoustics first, lineups that made sense, no compromises. Just a stubborn belief that if we did it right, the right people would find us.

And they did |

Safdarjung’s 29, GK1’s 48, and now five years deep into GK2 — before the brands, before the bustle. Depot’s been around long enough to see indie music go from a side note to the main stage. And somehow, the street, the scene, and the soundtrack grew up together.

Today, Depot48 hosts live music five nights a week — more than 4500 gigs (and counting).

We’ve been the first stage for breakout acts, the second home for fan favourites, and the reason a few new bands even exist. Our sound engineers care about your setlist almost as much as you do. We don’t just mic you up. We set you up to sound like your best self.

We’re proudly known as Delhi’s longest-running queer-inclusive venue, but we didn’t put up a rainbow flag just to say we were. We earned the trust the only way that matters — one night, one song, one dancefloor at a time. Pink Thursdays aren’t a theme here. They’re a tradition.

It’s where the queer community carved out a home long before “safe space” became a tagline.

It’s where a Thursday night drag show can turn into a sweaty dance party and nobody blinks.

The drinks? Let’s just say they have their own fanbase. From OG Depot classics to one-night-only cocktail specials, the bar is always ready to surprise you — and occasionally, outdrink you.

The kitchen doesn’t believe in genres either: momo, ravioli, quesadillas, butter chicken — if it’s comfort on a plate, it’s on our menu. The service? Personal enough to remember your drink, but chill enough to let you stay lost in the music.

Depot48 isn’t a place you stumble into.

It’s a place you seek out — for the music, the cocktails, the company, the culture.
It’s where indie found its first real home in Delhi.

And where it still lives, loud and clear.
